Te Akau School currently has a roll of just over 40 students and is located in the Te Akau Village, just 35 minutes from Ngaruawahia. We are proud to be a friendly, family-oriented school with strong community involvement. Our students love coming to school, are enthusiastic about learning, and are motivated to achieve success.
Te Akau School is a full primary school catering to students from Years 0 to 8. Established in 1913, we celebrated our 100th jubilee in 2013.
Our Board of Trustees, Staff and PTA work closely as a team to support the growth and success of the school. Our school is bright and welcoming, featuring a swimming pool and a native patch of bush open for play during the summer months, an ICT suite, skate park, two fields, a tennis court, a large playground, covered outdoor lunch area, and covered sandpit. In 2024, we completed renovations to our learning support and library area, as well as adding a roof to the large deck by Room One.
We highly value early childhood education and are fortunate to have the Te Akau Playcentre located just behind the school. This close relationship helps ensure a smooth transition for children moving from playcentre to our junior school.
